The D-Day (9th July 08..) arrived nd my task(organizing duties…) ws incomplete without buyin d tickets..So i was up early morning waiting in a queue while lemme gues my friends were enjoyin their Bed coffee..( i suppos K even managed 2 skip his coffee 2 hav an xtra 30 min nap..lolzz)…bt i was glad 2 see all reach b4 time..(jus 4 d record hw often do u see A on time…lolzz)…We boarded d train at 9am frm Panvel nd it also happend 2 b d same train in which my sister was gettin down (….though reminded me of BumBum’s 4th Law->“Jab ek cheez andar jaata hai toh doosra bahar aata ha” …lolzzz)…enough bullshittin..So we were happy 2 see an empty bogie full of comfort..nd perfect environment 2 do what we do best ..yeah ur ryt…play ‘Dumb Charades’ …we got so engrossed in d game dat we cudnt realise hw 2hrs went by..nd reached Lonavala Stn…Practically speakin from here on d actual xcitement begins coz none of us had any idea about where 2 go ..henceforth the pain had split 6 ways on 6 shoulders resp…(i ws happy atleast..)

When we came outside the Stn. we saw a beautiful view never seen b4(..mayb i hav never seen b4..)..i could also see eyes trembling among my buddies..( A,K, nd Me)…if i told u dat it wasnt ne Hills,Clouds,or ne natural landscape..dat leaves only 1 thing..yes.. it simply read ‘G.R Wines’ (lolzzzz)…Anyways we moved on nd approached a Rick 2 reach a place called Bhushi Dam(suggested by A‘s bro again…b4 u make a conclusion….yes.. A is useless….bt any damn trip or hangout widout him wud b impossible…..we call it d ‘A factor’)..To our surprise , the fare of 70 bux seemed not reasonable,so we decided 2 take up d tougher route..”WALK”…I must admit though ..it was one walk 2 remember..comprising of asking every localite there ”hw many kms more 4 bhushi dam..??“ ..Strangely we were d only tourists on our feet on d road..rest of whom we cud see them goin in Buses,Sumos…nd unfortunately Ricks..For 1 moment everyone regretted not takin up a rick esp. A(acc. to him..he’d never walked dis long in a year…or two..lolzz)..nothing 2 do, we startd singin..A struck first wid a song..nd trust me ‘Holy Rain Goddess’ cudnt hav had a better day as ‘she’ cudnt bear his 1st line.. so started Peeing(..lolzz)….yup after a while it suddenly started 2 rain heavily den.(lolz.. A didnt continue 2 sing …not A’s fault dis tym lolzz)..bt sure dat didnt stop us frm forging ahead ….’Sad below grade’ PJs kept pouring in frm L & my side..B nd R wer busy clickin natural beauty…(no Wine shops dis tym…lolzz…although Hookah places wer seen on regular basis..)..K constantly emphasised on visitin Kumar Resort(knwn for its Artificial Waterfalls nd Waterpark)…for a change A was silently walkin..(initially i thot he ws gettin bored of d trip…bt later i realised dat he ws workin on ‘Mastering d Vaib Attitude’ in his mind..lolzz)..From a distant view i was all of a sudden left languorous ..the Waterfalls reflecting its misty-hazy appearance with eye-catching splendour nearly took the breath out of me…Out of d blue All 6 of us switched to d ‘Adrenaline-Pumped-Up’ mode ,which was short-lived(…lolzz..) on seeing the Path that led 2 the dam(lolzzz…)….it ws intensely waterlogged upto knee-level …R nd Me were smart enough 2 wear Floaters unlike d rest who had 2 carry der branded Shoes half way up….i gues i’ll stop here oderwise it wudnt seem like a post nemore…

Well i’m D  ,the co-organizer nd the Brainchild of this wonderful experience alonside L (viewers dont be mistaken dat we are Duckworth-Lewis of D-L method …lolzzz) who equally had a gr8 impact in making this trip of ours a success…To start off, it took me a while to present the idea of the Alibaug trip(yes it ws alibaug decided initially) bcoz none xcept L seemed interested goin’…so i ws compelled 2 use d the usual “pre-historic” technique 2 arrange a meeting..->’ Call everyone 4 a movie.’….nd wt better way wud it be as “Jaane tu..” ws abt 2 release….4 of us turned up (A,L,K,D) & so we watched dat..bt later it turned out we were more interested in discussin d movie rather joining-hands 4 d trip…so 1st day effort went in vain…However ,the following day was better coz i managed 2 recruit 2 more candidates (B nd R) under the criteria dat they wer distant frnds of d prick ‘MM‘ a.k.a “Bhailog d**ru waaru..”…coz keepin d hopes of ne plans alive is dependent on restricting MM 2 know abt it..lolzzzz….On the other-hand, L was struggling 2 ‘nail someone of her kind’ 4 dis trip..soon the struggle turned failure (thnx 2 yet another prick ‘PB‘..infact shes d female replica of MM….lolzz)..Eventually,L dropped the plan and quit the alibaug trip…..which inturn let my frustration reach its peak until a new guy ‘Mr.I’ or ‘Mr.DC’ backed me up wid dis plan provided d trip is on 8th(…i Suppose 8th is a bank holiday in his firm…lolzzz)  ..but that joy didnt last long coz K,our Working-Class Hero , managed 2 get busy on dat day…so it ws a quick ‘Enter-&-Exit’ Cameo role 4 Mr.I….

The next day saw full of surprises…coz L bounced back 2 organizing duties wid a new plan…Karnala Fort dis tym…B ws in total agreement coz he never wanted 2 go 2 any beaches at dis time of d year..bt again sumthing led to another it was suddenly a Lonavala trip…finally all 6 of us decided dis is it …still d question of how 2 go prevailed….nd as usual i had stepped in 2 say “Its taken care of..”…In the midst of all these days i made innumerous phone calls 2 everyone in my network(…Hd it been the end of month ,i wud hav surely attached my phone bill along wid d post…lolzz)out of which last call 2 A’s bro paid off with he givin us all details abt Lonavala….lastly,Mr.DC was seen in orkut quotin..”All JOKERS are goin…”…..he-he -he-he ….for dat reason + a succesful trip , u happen 2 be the 3rd nd last prick selected in my post….lol

Well i reckon prior to the match ,Germans literally “had the ball on their side….”  with topscorer David Villa sidelined due to calf injury ; they were boosted by the return of their talismanic skipper Ballack and Frings and had dominant results against Spain over years …no doubt it was Advantage Germany….. Unfortunately that was not to happen this time..The 1st 45 mins saw attacks from either ends with Torres’s header coming off the near post bar before he put his side ahead with a well-constructed ‘TextBook’ finish ..but later in 2nd half it was all a One-Sided Affair..Where there was some spectacular consecutive One-touch passes courtesy of Spain,we also had a Non-Resilient German side..Indeed German fans were still anxiously hoping for a late equaliser like they managed to scrape in previous games(..hardluck but it isnt “One of those days”), but this is the team which was (i hope d statistics laid down are precise..)unbeaten in 21 games,won all their games in this campaign so far,and most of all were eyeing a cup after 44 years of Patience(rather saying Not winning a Cup..or kinda Cup Drought ).. It is quite ironic though, the Spain U21 bt Germans in Euro final few years back and in that match who else but  Torres “El Nino” made the difference..kinda DeJavu some may call it..but certainly the Liverpool striker’s 33rd min goal disproves any such concepts..first and the foremost :the pace to outrun Lahm to reach for the ball, then shrugging past Lahm before Lehmann could stretch out and finally a cleverly lifted sublime finish past Lehmann was just enough to put Germans sent-home-packing.

I know most people wont be in agreement of what i said but tell me Where was the German game that dominated the midfield thru likes of Ballack,Schweinsteiger,Frings ; that ripped apart any defence …and i merely saw Podolski being a threat to the Spanish defence..Klose outta form created nothing ,Philip Lahm did manage to sneak past thru but not for long …and i must admit Germans didnt put up the fierce battle expected from them …. On the contrary, Spanish produced flawless football..they stuck to their basics i.e. passing.’Sir’ Luis Aragones (yeah..to me He is ..) had done his homework well..Fernando Torres‘s form was put to question by many which was overshadowed by the injury to his striking partner David Villa..But Fabregas stepped in(..for a much awaited start……hmm better late than never)  to fill that void for a newly 4-5-1 formation….Xavi was remarkable with short passes.. Marcos Senna: He is full of energy..sheer talent..and many a times emerging as the Unsung Hero..Silva and Iniesta,from their respective Winging ends, kept the Germans busy clearing the ball,.. Sergio Ramose restricted the Germans on a series of occasions and perhaps a post of this size wont be able sum up his contributions (mayb i’ll cum up wid a new post on him).. he surely wins my vote for the Player of the Series..Puyol with his crunching-last-minute tackle in this competition entertained me..(actually…reminded me of Jamie Carragher playing any Liverpool game..or particularly a CL match)..Lastly i’d rather be dead if i didnt name Iker Casillas…well my words arent necessary to highlight his contribution because He is the best goalkeeper in the world..Truly He’s 2nd to none..(feel sorry for Pepe Reina though ,accustomed with being benched ).. and might be the only player that lived upto all football pundits’ reputation.. summed up as a player;as an outstanding goalkeeper,as a gr8 Leader.Well in my eyes this team deserve to be the best in Europe and why not in World as well….Watch out Brazil..
